Valerie Bailey is a writer and secondary school educator with a director-level background in marketing. In 1996, she published 'Le dernier regard de Jonathan' with  Editions Fayard.

No stranger to writing non-fiction, Valerie has written an additional, yet unpublished, memoir: The Christmas Diaries. Chronicling 20 Christmases over the years it brings together the narratives of family members as the grow.

 

Valerie has always looked after others, coming to the rescue of family, runaway teenagers, and members of her local community. After starting her career in marketing, she retrained in community and social work, becoming a services director for homeless and addicted folk in her locality thus setting up a day centre and a hostel. She became a teacher in 2010. In her published articles, she draws on her experience to write about the reality of life for young people today.
